Who handles your information

Dearune is operated by an individual developer based in China, serving customers worldwide. The operator is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy inquiries, email help@dearune.com.

What we collect

We collect the story, recipient details, optional photos, song preferences, your name and email, and the delivery recipient’s email. Creem handles your payment details. We do not store card numbers.

Optional accounts

You can create and purchase a song without an account. If you register, we store your email and a password hash. We verify your email before connecting orders purchased with that address to your account. Account sessions use a necessary security cookie. The delivery recipient’s email does not grant access to the buyer’s order history.

Google sign-in

Google sign-in is optional. Google shares your verified email, name and profile picture with Dearune so we can sign you in and connect orders bought with the same email. Google may display a One Tap account prompt on public and sign-in pages. Google handles its own account and browser prompt preferences. We store the Google account identifier and a secure login session; we do not request Gmail, Drive or other Google content. Signing out pauses our automatic prompt for ten minutes.

How your content is used

Your story and photos are used to create and review your song, its cover, and available gift formats. Photos have location and camera metadata removed before storage. Our providers are Vercel for hosting and task execution, Neon for the order database, Cloudflare for private media storage and abuse protection, OpenRouter for story and lyric processing, ElevenLabs for music generation and audio checks, Creem for payments, and Resend for transactional email.

Before generating music, we send the proposed lyrics and music preferences to Creem to check for prohibited content. This can include names or personal details you chose to include in the lyrics. Creem also processes payments.

International processing

Our service providers may process your information in countries other than where you live. We use these providers to store your order, create and review your gift, prevent abuse, process payments, and send order emails.

Unlisted gifts

Share pages are excluded from public galleries and search indexing. They are accessible to anyone with the link. Avoid including information you would not want someone with the link to see.

Retention and deletion

Delivered sharing pages and the media needed to serve them are kept for at least 12 months after initial delivery, unless you request deletion or the order is refunded or removed for a policy violation. You may request deletion of your story, photos, and sharing pages through our contact page. We handle deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. We may need to verify that the request comes from the order owner, and will explain any payment or legally required records that must be retained.

Website information

We record limited first-party funnel events and campaign tags to understand whether the service works. Order and upload access use necessary security cookies. A functional language-preference cookie remembers your website language for up to one year. If you allow optional analytics, PostHog (US Cloud) receives anonymous page visits and masked session replays on public pages and the creation form. We mask text and inputs, block images, and exclude private order, account, payment, admin and gift pages. We do not send stories, photos, emails, access tokens, console logs or network bodies to PostHog. Session recordings are retained for 30 days. Your analytics choice is remembered for six months and can be changed using Privacy settings in the footer. Declining does not affect creating or receiving a song. We do not use advertising cookies.

With your analytics consent, Vercel Web Analytics measures page visits and Speed Insights measures page performance on public pages and the creation form. We remove query strings and fragments from reported page URLs and exclude private order, account, payment, admin and gift pages. These tools do not record your story, photos or form inputs. They follow the same Privacy settings choice as PostHog.
